Why is the word "balls" censored in Steam chats?

Why is the word "balls" censored in Steam chats? I saw a video of a game where a player was destroying green balls so I innocently described in chat what I saw, I typed he was destroying green balls, to my surprise, balls came out censored, like this *****. What?!?!?!?!!?!?!!? Balls is a normal word, why are they banning normal words now? Censorship never solves anything, it's getting out of hand, wrong and abusive.

Here on the forums it seems allowed as you just tested.

The problem I described happened in a Steam chat.

You know when you go to a Steam page where a game is streaming live? You watch the stream and you can chat at the same time, I was talking about that chat.
