Some things I believe would improve steam.
- Big picture mode 2k/4k Support (This could even be done by upscaling)

- Ability to switch between game icons and the new library covers in big picture mode.
(I believe it would look nicer if the library covers were implemented into big picture)

- Add more profile transparency when using Big picture or a slider option to adjust it.
(Profile backgrounds are implemented into big picture but you can barely see them due to the profile overlay having not much transparency.)

- Add the option to upscale Steam profile backgrounds to 2k and 4k resolutions.
(New profile update fixed the scaling a bit of background but not entirely)

- Big Picture and Non-Big Picture Steam Ui themes added to the Pointshop or Re-implement as custom themes. (Big Picture mode themes could have music to replace the ambient sound.)

These are all the things I could think of at the moment and I'm sure some of them could be planned and I may not know it,

But I thought I would just make a post regarding it since they are features that have been on my mind for a while now I'm sure some of them have already been suggested but I thought I would share my thoughts anyway.

I have a feeling some of these would be pretty complicated to implement as well so I'm not expecting much.

Very nice suggestions! The Big Picture mode deserves more love indeed. Taking into account that Valve updated the client last year and the profiles last month, I hope Big Picture is the next feature to be updated.
Yes I would greatly love that tbh I really love the Ui for the Playstation 4 in how you can customise it and include themes based on the games you like/enjoy I can see this being a possibility with Steam Big Picture as well but they just need to add a section on the Point Store for it and I suggested the music part because I know you can replace Steam's Ambient music already.

I think it would be really good if they updated Big picture to include the library covers for games from the new steam library that got added recently.

I'm all for more customization, and if they do that for the Big Picture (with themes being purchased in the new Points Shop), it'll be a win/win scenario for everyone. I play a lot with my PC plugged on the TV, so being able to make Big Picture match my profile theme would be awesome!

And the library covers would be neat indeed. Valve could at least give us the option: just like it is right now (with store page grids) or with the new vertical game cover. More options is always better.
Yes, that is exactly what I had on mind when I was thinking this tbh I had this on mind over a few months ago but never spoke up till now.

Currently, I have a few issues with steam but it seems like they are fixing some things it's just taking some time.

Like how we got the new profile system recently they added another scaling option though it fixes some steam profile backgrounds it doesn't really work with all, unfortunately.

I have been wanting to set up my Laptop sort of like a Nintendo Switch in a way where I can have it instant boot into Steam Big Picture on startup and when I want to use it on TV just plug it in via HDMI and use a controller to play my games.

I did take a look at SteamOS but that seemed to have been a failure though I believe if they gave it a bit more love it could be used for a different purpose instead of just being used for Alienware machines.

Though the better option right now would be just to make a Windows profile that instant boots into Steam Big Pic the minute the computer starts.

I think if they had themes and updated Big pic with 4k support and a few more features I would seriously love it I also think the chat could be updated a bit Playstation seems to have a really good way of text chatting using a controller with the spell checking system it has.
