A way to add a custom amount of money to the steam wallet

I play TF2 and today I wanted to buy something. it costs R$5.19 (Brazilian currency), but when I tried to buy it I had to add nearly double that money because it won't let me add just the amount I need.
Please make this an actual mechanic

Why do you need to add the money to your wallet first? Just use the credit card to buy the item.

I don't know, I am trying to use the credit card but just tells me to add money to my wallet.
Am I doing something wrong?

There are transaction fees that you dont see, but the store (steam) has to pay. when you buy from steam using a credit card, steam has to pay a fee, when you refund back to your credit card, steam again has to pay a transaction fee. there is a point where the money you are adding is mostly eaten up by the fee. Steam had to set a minimum amount you can add because of the fee they have to pay for every transaction you do on steam.

Yup it works, or you can use augmented steam ( go to isthereanydeal.com and click on Our Projects at the top) which will give you a custom box on both the add funds and gift funds page.

I tried using that (augmented steam) but it only lets me add more than R$10.

You can't add less than the current minimum set by Valve.

Yes, ik about that, so I'd like if we could add less.
Or at least if things bought were just bought directly from the credit card, instead of having to use/add to the steam wallet

Being able to add less than the minimum would mean Valve would lose money for the transaction.

What things? Only the Market requires you to use wallet funds, for obvious reasons.

ie, the minimum amount to fund your wallet because the Mann Co. Store only uses the wallet.
