Private purchases / private game library
Don't make me explain why this is a necessary feature on Steam right now, you only need look at the latest releases on any given month ... :CunningPepeRed:

Feature: Allow us to buy certain games and on prompt at purchase "make this purchase private" and it doesn't go on our feed. It then goes to a sub-library that is a private library no one will ever see. These games can't be seen on our profile ever, nor our activity in them (achievements, screenshots etc) and when we launch them it doesn't say to people who have us on friends list, "X is in game (GAME NAME)." Allow us to move games we currently own into private as well. And if possible, let us freely move a game out of private library, call this the "coming out of the closet" button, if you will.

Yeah we could just set our entire profile to private but that actually won't cover all bases here and then it doesn't allow us to use pretty much EVERY other social feature. So it's overkill.

I'm taking one for the team even asking this. If anyone I know finds this post I will have to deny having written it. :CunningPepeRed:

Just open a second account for the games your embarrassed to be seen playing, or learn to not give a crap what others think.

Still it's nice to have. Why can't you just have this as a feature? Not everyone wants to yell what they are doing

Because your library is marketing data. Just set your profile private or friends only.

What's to say valve cannot use this data? The request is to merely stop friends from seeing what you buy. Can that affect sales? Sure! I'm not going to ignore that fact. But still, I doubt the numbers are big for players who buy because of activity
