CIS countries should have same prices as in Russia.
For what reason we have to pay almost twice as much? Doesn't CIS include Russia? Not a singe CIS country is richer in any way. Please, Valve, adjust prices.

That's for the publishers to settle, but those generally don't seem to care much it would appear.

russia is not a part of the CIS pricing region, no.

These pricing regions shouldn't be different, since Russia is a part of CIS countries.

I don't understand why they created two different regions for Russia and its neighbouring countries in the first place. Ukrainian prices used to be the exact equivalent of Russian prices converted into USD, but nowadays due to the different USD to UAH exchange rate they're at least 2 times higher, while people here have the same if not worse paying capacity than Russians. Valve must use their power to recommend publishers a proper corrected pricing just like GOG does these days. CIS countries should also have their own currency implemented instead of USD.

Well you might have to ask a bit more higher ups than valve to change your countrys pricing system.

the steam store in russia is separate from that in which the other countries in the CIS region use.

this is the same for canada and the usa. same geographical region but 2 separate steam stores with their own currencies in use.

Why? Valve is the one who recommends prices for publishers to set, not "higher ups".

That is clear. I'm saying that prices shouldn't differ for us.

that is not up to valve to decide or enforce.

Russians got proper prices, when Valve did recommendations for publishers. So I'm asking them to do the same for CIS.
cSg|mc-Hotsauce May 15, 2017 @ 11:39am
they may recommend prices for regions and in general but publishers are the ones who ultimately decide on whether or not to use those recommendations. most just use the default price recommended to them some do not.

all this just points right back to the publishers.

Most of games, like 99%, on steam are much expencier for CIS, compared to Russia. This must have something to do with reommendations. And I think Valve can easily adjust that.

It probably has more to do with most publishers considering CIS an irrelevant backwater they don't need to mind.

Not that I support the attitude, but I am betting on its guilt.

Great, after recent update to Steam store I can't even ask a friend from Russia to buy me a game since now it's impossible to gift games from regions with lower price to regions with higher price. At least previously it was possible to circumvent absurd prices in the Store. Now the only games I can buy for a reasonable price is big titles sold in third-party Russian games stores (obviously Steam sales doesn't apply to them) and games sold in bundles (third-party stores again). Why do I need Steam store then?
