Dynamic Collection : Owned by this account
Hey, can we introduce a new feature in the dynamic collections? The filter being: only show games owned by this steam account, which will only show games that your steam account owns, and disregards the family shared games. This would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

you can add your own titled categories.
i have 26, lol, really need to do some re-filing.
it is also possible to have a game title in more than one category heading too, so if you have games that a few of you play, adding them to your category wont affect them adding it to theirs.

There are two ways you can go about it.

1. Hover over LIBRARY tab - Go to Collections - Click on 'Create a Collection'
pretty straight forward from there.

2. In your Library - Right click on the Game Icon or Game Title - Select GO TO (This is under the Go To Favourite) - Click on '+ New Collection'
and then same again.

Once Categories are made, it is easy to add or remove titles, pretty much the same way.
1. In the Actual 'Collections' tab
2. Right Click the Game Name or Game Icon - Select 'Add to' or 'Remove from'

Oh there is a 3rd way.
In LIBRARY, when a particular game is selected, there are 3 little icons, at the bottom right of Title Picture, the opposite side to the 'Play' button.
1. Manage - 2. Show More Details - 3. Add To Favourites

Click on the first icon, 'Manage' - continue like above - Select 'Add to' or 'Remove from' etc etc..

What works for me is:

Click on Library -> Home

then in the drop down under Games tick the box called Group by Library

Hmm Ive only got 'Group by Collection' - wd that be coz I have Collections rather than just the Library?

Cause I searched for the option, in filters (tab across from Search engine) i re-discovered being able to show games in different ways, and was able to create a Dynamic collection with "Remote Play" Filter selected. Love happy accidents. Thx NS Plover :lunar2020hearteyesrabbit:

So I have Family Sharing with my husband and son and I see both Group by Collection and Group by Library (I really need this because we don't like the same types of games...) So weird that you don't have both options...

Edited to say I have a lot of collections.

thx for replying
Yes I discovered earlier that i dont have the ability to add Nicknames and for my Friends and the other things, when right clicking on their name.
I posted on the Mac discussion page to see if it was a Mac thing, i remembered it mentioned when I posted a suggestion about a pop-up notepad, so i can keep notes of friends. Its hard to keep track of things like who gifted me a game, or who i gifted a game, who invited to join them on a game sometime, who was the writer etc...
This could be the same. Right clicking options not optimised for Mac. It worked for Linux.
So yep weird.

Btw - are you able to play different games, similtaneously on different computers?

I think maybe you have to click on Library and Home rather than library and collections to see Group by Library.

No idea about nicknames - I've never tried to use.

So we all have different computers and can all be active at once - on our own library. A library can only be used by one computer at a time...

yes went to Home Library.
wondering now, could it be because you have a Family Sharing, that it provides the option of alternate Libraries?
lol i hijacked Zero's thread - got caught up in the mystery of it all.
thanks for going thru it with me :midnightRV:

It's alright. Also speaking of group by library, it seem's I've found out how to do that.

Apparently, I just wasn't looking hard enough and this was pretty much already implemented, just in a different way than I expected.

all good

btw - i dnt kno why - running on auto pilot i suppose - i just checked ur profile page - can ur recommend any coding games and/ or simple beginner code learning program.

I played Hacknet, originally coz I was looking for Devs from my City, and LOVED it.
Played one of the Hacker Series; Have Hacker Evolutions and Hack the Core.
Just started a Mac only Edutainment Code game, tho its not always explained well, and reviews/ comments arent great and mention incorrect facts etc...

I would really recommend trying something with Garry's Mod because it's really modder friendly. When you save a file that already exists on the server, it auto-refreshes the file so the code is instantly updated. And as long as your code is good, it should be good on refresh. You can learn a lot about client / server communication with the game and how to make your own gui's with glua and get a general idea about what your doing. Also, it uses it's own syntax known as gLua, which is basically Lua with a few changes. It's like a c++ / lua hybrid, and personally I enjoy working with gLua a lot. There are also some youtubers who have very helpful videos, codeblue used to make very interesting videos and that's where I got my start with it. Jackktutorials helped my setup my first private server and I kinda learned on my own from there. Just a ton of messing around with my console and trying to do stupid things that I slowly learned from. With gmod you can pretty much do anything you want. Also I've been up for far too long while writing this, so I apologize for my topic transitions. But the game you want / programs you'd want depends on what language you're trying to learn. Personally I'm trying to learn C++, but Garry's Mod isn't the best game for that unless you plan on coding a cheat (Hopefully only for learning purposes). Either way, good luck learning and let me know if you need any pointers. I'll help you out if I can / have the time!
