Why can I not buy Steam credits via Amazon or other online retailers?
I can buy PS+ cards, XBL, but not Steam credit? Come-on, update that marketing strat already!

you can buy them via paypal. https://www.paypal-gifts.com/us/brands/steam-digital-wallet-code.html

similar to how amazon doesn't let you buy ebay gift cards or use paypal, they're competitors and would take too much of a cut from valve to be worth it.

You can purchase physical cards but not digital codes.

Thanks for the link and the explanation, but if Sony and Microsoft (especially with the generation they’ve been having) can afford to provide currency and PS+/XBL on other online retailers like Amazon, why can’t Steam?

Amazon does stock physical steam gift cards.

I wouldn't want to support amazon either, since they don't support paypal.

Amazon chose not to support digital Steam codes.

And in fact, these are the Valve items on Amazon...

Amazon does stock physical steam gift cards.

Searched again and I see their merchandise available, but their cards are “currently unavailable”. Plus, it is only in $$$ ☹ Damn shame

They have an issue with low stock. It should be filled again in a day or two.

Dollars or Euros. It does not matter. It all gets converted after you enter the code in Steam anyways.

Yes. They just purchase X amount and let the stock run out before purchasing more. I've asked them to not do it that way but they don't care.

Guess its the amount theyre willing to potentially "lose" or have on hold. Can I assume Steam would already be paid from the codes released to Amazon and Amazon would only gain money back once the lot is sold out?
