limit to have max 100 achievements for each game
achievementtrolling games are serious business now on steam, there are games now even with 10k achevements and this is getting more and more worse every day. There are many stupid people who baited by it, but somehow i have a feeling these games causing the nowadays common community lag, with their endless, no effort trolling achievements.

A game shouldnt have more than 100 achievements, of course, long games, AAA games could have more, but dont let indie or greenlight games have more than 100.

You shouldn't buy a game because of the achievement in the first place. You should buy a game because it's a good game that is worth your money.

Anyone buying games strictly based on achievements only have themselves to blame. You know what you're getting into when a game have a ton of them.
DaRandomDude Jun 19, 2017 @ 11:56pm
Why? What's so bad about having a ton of achievements in your game? I found the Zup! games this way. And I love them. And the achievements make the game more fun. Achievements are pretty much useless. Why do you care?
Csontzuzo Jun 20, 2017 @ 12:40am
you mentioned zup games. zup games award like 15 achievements for the very same thing, seriuosly, thats just ♥♥♥♥♥♥. its clear from your post that you dont care about achievements neither not now the purpose of it, so why do you care if i and a lot of achievementlovers want this to end, this achievementtrolling.

To be fair, I agree with some of what was said here. You should not buy a game for achievement but for what it has to offer content wise. If you try too hard for 100% achievement, you may find yourself working too hard on games you may not want to deal with anymore. Just play for fun.

Then why you bought and earned 100% achievements in Zup3?

Ironic, isn't it?

But I like it when I complete some levels fast and it takes very long until all archivements poped up in the corner.

I get the feeling but not every games will give you tons of achievements at once, though. Also, what the OP means is more a question of "having too many achievements to work for". Which should not be a problem depending on if the game is fun or not. Games should not be a chore.

oh, a troll was happy to find 1 game. Tried one because i like to try and play lot of different and various games, not owning any other Zup copypaste wannabegame. Without experiencing it couldnt even know it unlocks 10-20 achievements for the very same thing.

Or are you just one who talk about things while not knowing anything about it?

i not buying games for achievements only (do you know how many tard indie game got released recently with 1k+ achievements, i own almost zero of them) but these games causing such activity lagg with their several k achievements, activity tab had always issues but it started to be total useless since these trolling achievementspam method spreading more and more at indie game "developers". well, they arent actually developers just unity asset copy paster infections whose filling up steam library with thousands of copypaste games and so make harder to find the real gems in steam library.

please dont post more "dont buy games just for achievements" post, i dont do, but a lot of humans doing it and i think it ruins the overall steam experience.

oh yes, pointing out obvious flaws in your argument is now trolling, i just love it

If it bothers you so much: dont buy those games. unless you are that kind of person who feels the need to get really angry about what others people do and how they earn their achivements

so you say you can have opinion only about games you dont have and not experienced? getting the logical answer for this question answer allready, that yes, it was trolling. btw i own 1 from the 5 or 6 zup games, and as there will be definetly zup 50 by the end of 2020 ill still have only 1, unless i get some as gift just like happened with zup3:-p

There's nothing wrong with having lots of achievements, no-one but you see them unless you go looking for them, so there's no reason it should ruin your experience that they exist.

Even if you ignore the games built for achievements, there are MANY games that have more than 100 from mainstream developers:

Team Fortress 2 from Valve has over 500
Train Simulator has over 900
Guns of Icarus has over 800
Payday 2 has over 500
Binding of Issacc has over 200
Killing Floor has over 200
etc.

Logistical has over 5000 and isn't a game just for achievements.
Dakuwan Jun 20, 2017 @ 6:07am
Option 1: stop chasing the achievement dragon

Option 2: post rant about a games achievements since you cannot 100% it.

On Steam forums, no one can hear you scream...
liosalpha Jun 20, 2017 @ 11:24am
Gemcraft, chashing shadows has a ton. And they are great!

I am curiouse thou, what do these 100's of achievents games represent to you, OP?
Game content, better way to find that out it to look in the guid section or to see if there is a wiki on the game.
BloodyRo Jun 20, 2017 @ 12:00pm
Well now we have a game with 10k achievements:
http://store.steampowered.com/app/628490/Zen_vs_Zombie_Achievment_Hunter/

I don't know if 100 would a fair limit but there should indeed be a limit, what if someday someone decides to publish a game with 1 milion or 100 milion or even more?

I would probably buy that. Just to have it. Well, I won't buy it if it's very bad but if it's decent I would buy it. Really! (Except it's overpriced)
