Ignore a Developer / Published team in Shop (home‑page).
Hi Steam dev’s,

in steam homepage we have many kinds of proposal,
we can ignore a game, to not see it anypole as proposition,

but something is missing,
we cannot ignore a Developer or Publisher (to not see any of their game’s or soft‑vare).
So, I ask you gently, to add this possibility in Steam client,

I hope others user will comment and vote pro,
to promote this idea.

Good‑bye.

You can ignore a developer/publisher if they have set up a page: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1972247912
Ah ok, thank you I searched pro it, and I did not find it.
The gear was to small to notice it.

it doesn't work, the moment a dev/publisher makes a sale you will find their stupid banner on top of store page, you will find their stupid mini banner on Special Offers section and finally you will also find another stupid mini banner on Update and Offer section.

Now if you can live being spammed by unhideable banners bceuase they are not some literal who like a generic indie dev/publisher whom makes a sale and you can hide it their three banners for effing freaking ever, then there is one more sad news for you, once a generic Steam sale happens and you have some triple A scammer ignored, the discover and browse section of the store will be filled with greyed out boxes from ignored products.

As long the bright minds at Valve refuse to implement a working ignore function things will not change

Mind you I put on ignore the recently nobody asked for games that were released due EA sadly moving back to Steam.
I'm tampering with webkit.css file to hide the freaking banners and other spam in your face things they added, yet I had to ignore their games for three times in a row because they showed up once on Featured & Recommended, so I went to EA's page and quickly neutered the annoyance, then somehow they decided to show me the crap I already ignored on the New & Trending section, a day later a newer advertising popped up on Featured & Recommended which I quickly put on ignore.
Can't they make a freaking machine that learns ONCE FOR ALL that if I'm ignoring all of their games, it will stop showing me their ignored crap?

Those aren't personalised sections of the store. Ignoring only works on personalised sections, like the discovery queues.

It does work as intended. You simply have a different expectation of what it should do.

You are making the assumption that is wanted. Yes, by you it is, but such a mechanic isn't favorable for a storefront or the parties selling items.

Keep in mind that the Steam store has 2 customer groups:
- Gamers;
- Publishers.
They won't make stuff that will alienate or hinder one of them too much.

Personally I don't see the need for that ignore button. I simply scroll past games/publishers I'm not interested in.

For the search itself, check the Hide Ignored Games filter...

For the other areas of the store, I found the old blog post Tito quoted saying why...

Q: Sometimes I see blurred out games on my Store front page. Why is that?

A: There are a number of sections on the front page that we fill with games, and to ensure the servers behind it don't melt down as everyone tries to use it, we do a lot of data caching. This works great for data sets that we can easily pre-compute - so if there's a game you shouldn't see due to your mature content filters, you'll never see it on the front page. But if you've chosen to do some more personal filtering of particular developers, or specific games, we can't do that pre-computation as easily. As a result, it's possible you'll see a blurred out game on the front page because your personal filters should cause it to be hidden. In practice, though, this will only happen if you've filtered out so many games that it can't find enough to fill a section of the front page, and again, like the search results, we'll blur that game out and tell you why.

I feel ya bud, I came here myself as I am still able to see EA's trash peddled at me. Funny that this is the first time I've ever considered ignoring a developer. Glad to see it isn't just me that have made special arrangements in EA's case.
