Spotify Integration?

Along with the steam music feature i thought it would be great to listen to spotify

It would be nice if people bothered to use the search feature to discover that something has been discussed to death and that there are many who do not want the bloat ware added to steam and to add to the latest one instead of making a whole new thread on the same old topic if they actually have anything new to add.

I don't want the bloat in steam because its something I will never use. And if that gets added in, you're going to have a whole lot of requests for every single other streaming service. And more then likely if its added into steam, Valve is going to have to pay out money to it as I see no other way for them to add it in.

None of these music streaming services need to be integrated into steam, they can all be played and controlled in the background. I don't even use the integrated music player which I wish they would remove as there is no need for that bloat, I use winamp for my music and it works just fine.

So short version for like the 100+ time, NO!

Long version, use the search feature and read.

I don't mind features but the problem is that most of them comes at a cost in resources (unless a clever plug in system is used where unused features never gets loaded). Steam already have a zillion features i never use (like the forced voice chat) wasting my computers resources already so i hope they don't make it more bloated than it already is (unless ofc they finaly make good use of a clever "on demand" plugin system)

You can easily run Spotify next to Steam. Or on another device. Why would it have to be integrated into Steam?

Spotify has their own app you can download. You can try adding it as a non-steam game, but there's no need to integrate their app with steam. In that case may as well integrate gmail or photoshop as those are things i use while gaming.
