Removing your rating (thumbs up/down)
A while back I contacted Steam Support and asked whether it is possible to remove your rating (the thumbs up/down) on someone else's post or artwork, making it neutral again. It basically ended in me making the suggestion to add such a feature.

He told me that he forwarded my comments to the appropriate department and if I have more suggestions I can make them here.

So my question, is Steam working on such a thing? If not, is it possible to add it? Since Steam/Valve is constantly updating its UI it would be nice if such a feature was added. Thanks.

It is , go back to the item and thumbs down it. YOu're essentially negating your +1 witha -1

What I meant is making it neutral again. So for example If I click on one of the ratings for a second time it dissapears (just like in other social media).

If I thumb it down you'll still see the rating, this time it's just red and negative.

You will see the rating. No one else will. As far as the total vote count. It is a non-existant. Of course, that creats the problem that you then can't down vote. Perhaps it would be a useful feature, but steam seems big on, making you stick buy your guns.

Announcements, artwork, etc. are unaffected by downvotes so to speak.

Because the total amount of upvotes an item has received is the only thing they keep track of.

So if you want to change your mind, all you have to do is click on the other one. :NONPLUSSED_CREEP:

Guy's I understand that you can downvote things... What I mean is make an option to remove your rating altogether, making it neutral again...

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
