Just use curators.
Oh I didn't expect fast replies like this haha.
Yeah after a second thought, it seems curators are good enough. I forgot about that.
Thanks guys.
My macbook went boom and Im using a calculator for gaming.
Finding it timewasting to search for a game I can run.
I suggested search parameters in the recommended specifications.
CPUs, RAM, GPUs, 32 or 64bit OS etc.
Someone replied that it would be a legal issue?? or something
Like that specs arent always accurate?
I still think this would make searching for games to play a lot more efficient.
Spending more time looking for a game to play, than actually playing it, is becoming disheartening....
e.g, i got an intel (r) graphics intergrated, 64mb, uses 251 shared ram, has only Shader GL 1.1
soooo limited, and 32 bit system, *which cant be upgraded* 1GB RAM *which i want to spend less than $20 to add another stick, so I can spend more on a new, 2nd hand system...
Only good thing is I have found a few gems I wouldnt have bothered with before.
1990s PnC seem a lot more interesting and in depth to play....
PM me and I can tell u the titles that have been working on this toaster...
It also would cause Valve to become liable, yes. Valve would have to assign values to hardware specs and then judge recommendations based on that. That would make it sellers advice, in the same way that a store clerk will say "This game will run on your machine". There is a reason the latter never happens.
ive tried 'old skool game' tags, tho some of them are remastered anyway, there for their software or processor states minimum requirements are higher than my 32bit or pentium.
its not even the pentium, for me, my gpu is minimal, like I said, with GL, or Shader model (this system im left with at the mo means im learning about these parametere) is only 1.1, and most games are 2.0 at minimum.
Free games I download and try, if its close and some games have a graphics application in their files, I have taught myself to adjust, tho most just have big chunks of images missing, or lots of hot pink squares...
tho... I did earn an achievement and complete a level on one game, completeley in the dark...
a win's a win
i suppose the reason us low tech owners suggest this is because of the 'minimume requirements' and 'recommended' state at the bottom of the game's store page, like wd be on a hard copy's back cover.
we just figured those inputs could be used as search engine parameters to refine our browsing choices.
Anyhoo... Ive discovered Postal.... I needs to make a few things go boom
thanks for the reply, by the way..
I spent a good part of the last 4-5 hours searching for games in my wheel house that wont make my PC cry... so its a bit of a fresh topic at the mo.
it is amazing so many Steamers take the time to help out on the Discussion board
Those fields are just text fields. There are devs who put in stuff like GPU: Anything that brings up a screen.
If you want to use comparing sites, just google "Gamename + canirunit". You'll get a few sites where you can input your specs and that give a projection. That said, all those sites do list that it's not accurate and if you use 3 sites for the same game, you'll get slightly different results.
good thing Steam give refunds for games that dont work on system.
thx again.
happy gaming tiger
You too.
Hi buddy, I just sent you a friend request so that I can PM you.
