Create a patreon / kickstarter type system on steam for game creation

We can back game creation via out steam wallets without doing business with these awful companies and game creators can work with a company specifically for games, I can't figure out why you haven't already done this.

It's a good business opportunity and it's good for steam.

What's trash and what isn't is ultimately just your opinion and it's not worth anymore than anyone else's, if it was down to me for instance minecraft would of never been made because it's trash (to me).

There are lots of games that could be made and it would give Steam an edge over other stores, I would love to support the creation of projects but I don't want to make accounts across other companies like kickstarter and patreon.

Steam has all the foundations in place to make this happen, they just need the will.

EA is a one off fee, some people would prefer a monthly fee to support a developer that way.

I know there is patreon and kickstarter, there is no reason Steam can't offer a similar service to make money itself and allow people to support via their steam wallets.

People committing crimes aren't a valid argument against something being added.

As mentioned there is already Early Access and if developers want they can already use Patreon and Kickstarter. Valve doesn't need to run stuff like this.

This is just yet another way of "I want to give more money to developers than they are asking for" thread. Do people really have so much money to spare that they are willing to just throw it at developers just because? If so I've got vaporware I can sell, guaranteed never to come out! All for the low low price of what ever is in your bank account!

Talk to the developer in question then, though they might not go for trhat. It, causes tax and accounting issues in someplaces.

There is also no reason for STeam to get involved in that clufftersuck. If a deve wants your money on the regular they can set up a subscription option in steam... if they so choose. So again .. the features already exist.

The reason for steam to get involved is --------to make money since all these companies take a %------- and offer people who want to support this kind of system (and there is massive desire to do so) an avenue on their platform via the steam wallet system so they don't have to make more accounts on multiple other websites.

As said. Analgous features already exist. Between Early Access, DLC, and Actual subscriptions. Developers already have the ability to do this. So speak to the developer in question and ask them to make use of such a thing.

Translation. You don't want to. Your suggestion is rather pointless as said since any developer already has access to all the functionality patreon oir kickstarter can provide (while at the same time providing more consumer protection than either platform).

Even if Valve did it, you'd still have to get the developers to you know, use it. So...yeah. Gonna have to at least one reason Valve needs ANOTHER way for interested consumers to give dev/pubs more monies.
