Properly disable Cloud synch (and be able to purge its contents), a few related tweaks
I'm posting this here as a follow-up to reporting an issue with support.

The problem: Cloud synch keeps re-enabling itself after being disabled. They don't currently have a fix for this problem.

I don't want Cloud synch, and I certainly didn't want to be opt-out rather than opt-in. If it were at least opt-in, it being reset to default (if that's what the problem is stemming from) wouldn't keep mangling and outright corrupting my game saves. Because that's what the synch keeps doing when it re-enables - damage.

Something else that might help - or at least prevent damage being done when it DOES re-enable itself - would be having a window pop up with every file, every time. (Or maybe have this be another option that it'd have to remember - this might annoy people that want the Cloud to just "do its thing".) Ask me for every file you want to put on my computer, and certainly for every file you want to modify. Right now, it doesn't ask. At all. Despite it meddling with multiple games' saves multiple times, I've gotten a file conflict window exactly once. And it wasn't for one of the files it corrupted.

But, ideally, I'd like it to remember that I've disabled Cloud synch, and have it stay that way. Relatedly (there are other discussions about how to MacGyver a temporarily cleaned-out Cloud), having a way to actually just purge it's contents would be helpful. The remote storage links for what's in our Steam Clouds only gives us the option to download the files (when they show up at all), not to delete them.

I manage my saves, and their backup, manually. I don't want the Cloud interfering with that, let alone actively sabotaging my files. Make it actually stop when I tell it to stop, and have it remember that decision.

If anyone else is having this problem, I've also posted in Help and Tips here: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/1850323802572223463/
