Game backup directory settings in Steam client
It would be good if the Steam client allowed users to define a game backup location and default settings for CD/DVD size selection..... i.e. 1-click backups. It gets a bit tedious when you have several games and you have to keep changing the backup location and the backup image size (e.g. CD / DVD / Other..).

What would be nice to see are settings in the Steam client that allowed setting of :
- Steam default backup folder location (this could support network drives). This would be a good feature for those using SSDs to run Steam, as backing up to an alternate drive (eg. USB drive) or network drive would have less of an impact on the SSD life (due to reduced writes).
- Steam default backup file size (eg. CD / DVD / etc...)
- 1-click option (to backup automatically with settings defined in Steam client
- Ability to replace backup game files, in Steam game backup folders, if a backup is newer than the existing backups.
- Ability to prompt user for backup settings if desired (assuming a 1-click backup feature existed).
- Ability to select multiple games and have them backed up to individual game backup folders (in main Steam game backup folder). This feature would be nice as a 1-click option.

The above might be a bit much to ask. I find the existing process tedious when multiple games are being backed up. Only one game can be backed up at a time, unless multiple games are selected at once..creating one folder. Sure you can select individual games when restoring, but this clumps all games in one folder and it just seems more messy to deal with.

Others may have different thoughts on this, I think it would create a better user experience.

Sorry, bit late, but even in 2021, I agree. Just going through my library now of 350+ games. Just downloading and making backups to keep on an external. It is very tedious. Considering I have several drives connected to my PC, I have to scroll to the bottom for each game then select a folder. It'd certainly be more convenient

I dunno, anything you have to do 350 times is bound to feel tedious after a while. Sometimes UI decisions aren't built around bulk processing like that. Doing it as a one off though, it's fine. And I think that's the thinking guiding the feature.
