Rep is entirely unnecessary. If you trade inside the trading system you cannot be scammed.
Ergo the only reason you need Rep is because you are trading outside the system.
Valve does not support or endorse trading outside the system and never will. Hence Steam Rep will never be official.
Nope, not needed, trade within the system Valve has, and you can not be scammed.
If you utilise the trade system Valve have provided there's no use for it
A. You're a scammer needing to fake trustworthiness.
B. You're trying to cash out or earn real money through trading, something Valve doesn't support, endorse or allows.
So why would Valve want to make steamrep official?
Its never going to happen.
