An agreement to the SSA is also dumb? What you witness here on Steam, is all part of agreeing to the SSA and if you don't agree with the age gate in place, then you have not agreed to the SSA in the first place.
You should be grateful that Valve put all this effort in Steam to protect as many people as they possibly can.

All content ratings on video games in the USA are provided by a member-run organization that uses contract and trademark laws to implement their ratings.
Thats fine, there you have free speech and unconstitutionalism, but people manipulate enough so that they can have an excuse to get away with anything. Even the opposite.
Crazy thing is, a straight up pornographic website just has enter/leave, perhaps because visitors there might be generally more paranoid about privacy.
as it was said billon times: it doesnt matters if someone lies with the age confirmation or not, its no longer Valves problem after the fact.
It does give them the legal protection however against soccer moms and other people who wanna have Steam be the babysitter.
