Can we get an option to turn off the profanity filter?
Now that nudity and sexual content are on steam, can we also get a way to remove the profanity filter if we so wish? Or is profanity somehow worse than games like Love Vibe: Aria. I just want to be able to see them no no words. I'm a grown ass man, I don't need steam to protect my "virgin eyes".

:rooster:

And please don't give me that "but think of the kids" crap (I saw comments like this when this same question was brought up in the past).

No... just like all the other thread about this exact same topic, NO.

Use the search feature this has been discussed enough. they don't want that crap on their site, and having it discourages it because if people try to bypass they get banned. the filter is also used to get rid of websites that they don't want posted here.

So... NO!!!

People need to learn how to use the search feature before posting stuff that they know has been posted before and either learn from those topics and don't bother with it, or add to one of the more reason threads on that topic.

NO. do you under stand??? NO!!!! Its not happening.
Wait! They don't want cussing, yet fully naked women giving me a blow job is okay!? What kind of stupid logic is that? If I would have posted my comment before this new wave of content they have been allowing on their platform, then I would have agreed with you. But as it stands with them allowing games that contain adult content, I don't see why profanity is where the line is drawn.

Did you even look at the game I posted?

What me cussing shouldn't be allowed? I can cuss anyways, it's just censored. If I can opt into being able to play "ADULT GAMES" then I as an adult should be allowed to decide whether or not "I" as an adult see profanity on their platform. I mean I'm more bothered by the insane amount of ADULT GAMES that steam thinks I might like or should play. But let me guess, if I don't wanna see it I should just opt out of those categories? Funny how I have to opt out of steam wanting to show me ADULT GAMES, but I can't opt out of the profanity filter. Steam can sell me sex, but won't give me free speech.

Most of the other threads about this topic haven't pointed out that there is now ADULT CONTENT on their platform. And most of those threads were added before the ADULT CONTENT.

"and having it discourages it because if people try to bypass they get banned"
They wouldn't have to ban people for trying to bypass it, if people could simply opt out of it.

Like what sites? Adult sites? I can play adult games on here now, but I can't talk about adult sites!? What kind of logic is that? Also, they can ban links to those sites.

And lastly, If cussing is worse than sexual content, than we're all doomed. In the USA you have to be 18 to view adult content, but there isn't an age limit on profanity. If allowing no no words is going to thrust the forms into chaos, but me adding adult content games isn't, then it seems that steam and everyone else needs to get their ♥♥♥♥ together (Plus Reddit and many form sites allow it and for the most part things are pretty chill). In all my life I have never had people get this upset over me wanting to use profanity. I can make a game about sex and upload it onto steam, but if I want to cuss, that's going to be a no go. And people say liberals are over sensitive.

cussing is filtered out ONLY in the forums because that part is visible to everyone

its not a question of liberalism or not. And before we argue about semantics, for all we know the rule is there because they said so.

I understand (it's also filtered on the reviews too). But they can make the profanity filter age restricted. Meaning that kids can't see it and non steam users can't see it either. It seems the "profanity filter" has been talked about by A LOT of people. So clearly it's something the community wants. (or it's been talked about enough to put a stick up Gwarsbane's ass).

Not joke, these are the games that steam recommended to me after just 2 queues
Horny Girl
The Second Chance Strip Club
Angel Light The Elven Truce
Snowed IN
Star Goddess
Hentai Summer
Woman's body: For adults
Alien Hardcore Invasion

I didn't even opt into the sexual content. Steam did that for me. It's okay for them to sell me sexual content so long as they get their 30%, but it's not okay for me to say ♥♥♥♥?

And lastly, I am a liberal and I think banning profanity but allowing sexual content is the stupidest thing I have ever heard of. I mean sell me a profanity pass DLC for a $1. It's better than steam trying to sell me Horny Girl.

Ps. if liberals did put this rule into place, but are okay with people adding games that objectifys women, so that they can profit, than they're a poor excuse for liberals. That's just my two cents though.
