Change download speed to a drop down menu

Uh, you mean the bandwidth limiter? Most people tend to set that once and then forget it - why do you need to change it if you don't mind me asking?

Oh I find that if connection is lost or perhaps if I reboot and forget, steam starts auto downloading and floods my connection when I don't want it to, so I limit it until I actually want to download.

Ah, I see what you mean. I presume that setting it to only auto-update between particular times isn't really an option either because it doesn't offer any flexibility or you don't want to leave your machine on overnight. Fair enough.

I'm no expert on Steam skins or third-party utilities so I wouldn't know if there's already something out there that would help. Mind you, a lot of Steam skins are probably still broken after the recent UI update...
