Steam controller support on ”Nvidia Shield”
Hello

Is there any chance that GeForce now on android device ”Nvidia shield” will support Steam controller, so we dont need to connect mouse and keyboard in the livingroom to play moore complex games on Steam? We apriciating you included Steam on the Nvidia plattform, but the Steam controller is a Big part of it.

And yes, I know that you can use steamlink to connect ”Steam controller”. But then you need a decent PC to stream from, and the point with Geforce Now is that you dont need a PC but can stream directly from ”GeForce now” to play tripple A titles. Maybe you can tweak the app ”steamlink” to also work without stereaming form computer at your home?

Sorry for bad spelling, Im from Sweden.

1. You are asking for Valve to support a device when it is up to the makers of the device to support Valve's hardware...

2. Steam Link forum --->https://steamcommunity.com/app/353380/discussions/

3. Steam Link app sub-forum ---> https://steamcommunity.com/app/353380/discussions/4/

Unless there is a steamlink app on the shield, then you asking about two different things. If there is a steamlink app on there, you can probably only use it as intended, within the same network as your pc running steam. What you're asking for isn't a simple tweak, this involves having the data streamed straight from a server, which will likely bring upon some sort of fee I would imagine for the service, where apposed to having it stream from your own network (doesn't have to go to a 3rd party server and then streamed to your device).

Clarly you dont own a ”Shield”. The feature of streaming games directly from Steam on GeForce Now is already implemented (Claryfying, No lokal computer needed).
Only asking about new feature in existing app for Android, period.

Man you make my head spin!

If you read my post it clearly states that my request was about streaming from ”GeForce now” whitout lokal computer! Steamlink is an app made by Steam that supports ”steam Controller” but only if you Stream via lokal computer. So i requested the app to support ”Steam Controller” in both modes. Get it?

Oh and by the way, IF you stream Steam games from GeForce now you do need a Steam Account. This is a completely new feature in last GeForce now update.

I to am interested in having the steam controller properly work on the shield tv. A recent up date to GeForce now allows playing games from select game stores like steam and battle.net. in the case of steam Nvidia is hosting a steam instance of steam that you log into.

I've enabled Bluetooth on the steam controller and paired it with the shield tv. However only the right touch pad works as a mouse and the right trigger a left click. I have been unable to make any other inpits work, on the shield tv. Also I've had the shield controller and an Xbox one controller have intermittent issues with the hosted steam instance. I guess that's why it is in beta.

Yesterday I spoke with the steam support team about the steam controller and its compatibility with Nvidia shield TV and they told me that the best thing I could do was return it. It does not work in shield tv although it is true that with the new BLE firmware, the Nvidia shield detects it, it does not work correctly.

It's a shame that neither Steam nor NVidia make the effort to make this controller functional in GeForce Now.
I love Steam, but being able to play my games (almost 70, but only 20 compatible GeForce Now) on my TV without having to turn on my PC is really a revelation to me. But it is true that I prefer the Steam Controller to the nvidia controller that has concerns of accuracy.
I'm going to sell my steam link and the controller while it's still worth something and I'm going to buy an xbox 360 controller
