The previous sales had generic and bland things. The current thing (end of year 2019 sale) in the winter sale is physically repulsive. This is a step backwards. Stick with non-humans cartoon things instead of stuff, allegedly, trying to be a person.

Claiming all disdain for art is an attack on the artist really needs to be a recognized fallacy with a fancy Latin name already.

It looks ugly. It has the same physique every horrible calarts cartoon has had for the past 5+ years? There's nothing appealing about the design?

Someone coming into a thread to demand to know why someone would DARE object to something, accusing them of being a horrible person looks kinda stupid. Doing this without giving any counterpoint or even expressing actual disagreement really makes me suspicious...

I think the generic character did what it was supposed to do. Art style doesnt bother me at all.

You gave no information as to why. You just said you hate it. I wanted to know why. But I had to make multiple attempts to get anything relevant about your issue.

There's no basis for this accusation. If a thread isn't even ten replies long, it's a good idea to try reading the entire thread before posting instead of replying to a random post without understanding the context.

I believe hotsauce was asking why you hate it and if this was a hate thread in disguise is because the artist is non-binary and the store art depicts a non-binary person as well.

This has cause a vocal minority of users to throw hate at both valve and the artist.

Though if there saying all the store art has been bland/terrible then I’m guessing they missed the autumn sale. Many users where asking to be able to get digital copies of the store art for each day.

I don't see anything wrong with the current art. Wouldn't mind if it returned in a following sale.

Liking things is subjective anyway and you can't please everyone.

People have had the same complain sale after sale. From the old Steam Mascots to the Saliens artwork, to the Team race ones.

No event style will please everyone. Steam has been changing the artwork and style for events all over the years. There will always be someone who is not of his liking.

Sounds like a matter of taste. And, in matters of taste, it's a hopeless task for Valve to please everyone. "I don't like it" isn't actionable, as suggestions go.
