join friends game broken

there used to be a join friends game option..and now there is not.. i tried the fix but was told to post here hoping to encourage a more proactive fix and or update.. unless someone has a working fix..

What's the problem. I join all the time by clicking my friends profile > join "blah blah" game

no option to.. it's a known bug so the ticket response i received said

I joined a friends game literally yesterday on mw3 because I couldn't get into a lobby using "join game"

I think you need to look better.

it is'nt there.. it's not there for 3 of the guys i play with.. join friends game is not there i can screen shot it for you if you want

since you are going into the game anyway, start the game they are in, shift tab, then join from there

after a update some months back that button and the ability to join friends disappeared this is the response from steam that i recieved .......Hello and thank you for reaching out to Steam Support.

We're aware of a bug where the Join Game option will be disabled if you uncheck a certain option in your Steam Client settings.

Please try the following:
In the Steam Client, select Steam > Settings > Web Browser
Check mark "Allow desktop Web browsers to automatically log into Steam sites"
Restart the Steam Client and re-test the issue

Let us know if the Join Game option is still missing.

i did these steps and it has not resolved the issue.. i used to use join friends regularily for dayz mod and Arma 3 because it was the most convenient way to do it

Try clearing the web browser cache as well

I'm surprised they did not instruct you to do that.

same page, steam>settings>web browser "delete web browser cache"

if that doesn't work do a flushconfig

windows key + r

type "steam://flushconfig" in the box

The difference in their case is, the native Steam friends menu does not show this option. What you mentioned with joining on a friend's profile is more like a workaround (because it's another way), not the solution. For lobbies that are not public and games that have no feature to open up the special invitation window[gamepedia.cursecdn.com], it's actually a dealbreaker when "invite to lobby" does not appear.
