I don't use this workaround, VALVE MUST fix this.
I have set my Steam language to English, why on earth would I want the autocorrect in Norwegian? They need to fix this.
I'm Dutch but I type here in English, so almost every word gets a red line. Even when I change the language to English.
Why you can't turn this feature off normally is absolutely baffeling.
Right click the misspelled word and suggestions will be listed along with an add to Dictionary option.
The right click menu is long now.
Did you right click on the word itself?
I have the same problem. It seems that it's not working in the Steam chat.
Was completely confused about it's suggestion for Nvidia = Dravidian
Yay, no more Red underlining. Now just need to make sure I don't add misspelt words to it
It works for both languages in the .json-hack too :)
Since this they did add an option to disable the spellcheck in chat ...
Thanks to you for pointing out the location of that file now I was able to make spellchecking work in more than one language.
If anyone interested you can add the language id using comma-separated values, eg:
"spellcheck":{"dictionaries":["en,it"],"dictionary":""}
