Add Synopsis to Steam Library!
I'm surprised this hasn't been added yet. I have several hundred games, and I don't remember what they all are just by the name.

It would be nice to see quickly what it's about without having to open each and every game's store page.

It doesn't really help for games that have their store page removed, but why don't you just take one extra click to click on the game's store page(on the right side of the window)? You'd potentially have to do an extra click anyways depending on how its implemented.

It's not a problem to take an extra click if it's only a few games. But if you're browsing through thousands of games, then clicking on Store page and waiting for it to load and then going back to Library takes too much time.

I'd prefer to scroll trough my library with arrow down key and having few screenshots show up immediately so I can quickly see what the game is about.
It would also be nice if we could see game ratings and system requirements directly from library.

I agree. Screen estate on Detail View is mostly wasted. Only thing I'm interested in the detail view is the game list on the left and on the detail portion: "Play"-button, time played and sometimes achievements as this usually somewhat reflects your progress in the game. So on that view on my screen (1920x1200) when subtracting the space the gamelist takes and the information I want to see I'm left with 83% wasted space. I'd much rather see the store page on this wasted space. That is why I sometimes browse my library in depressurizer.

Its not Steam's problem that you have "thousands of games" that you don't have the slightest clue what they're about.

The ♥♥♥♥?? It's not about it being "their problem". It's about QOL improvements for their customers.

According to Kotaku (https://kotaku.com/were-buying-more-pc-games-than-we-can-play-1493402988), 30% of gamers have 50+ unplayed games in their library. I have far more than that, but I guarantee I couldn't even tell you what 10 of them are about...

Between Steam sales, Humble Bundle, etc, nearly everyone has tons of games they haven't played, and a quick synopsis on the library page would be a welcome addition that wouldn't be particularly resource-heavy for Valve to implement.

According to Kotaku, I think thats all I needed to know about that statistic.

There's a HUGE difference between have 50+ unplayed games(and a percentage of those the person likely knows about them), and I quote "thousands of games". I looked up his profile and he has even more games than I do, and I thought I had alot so he indeed has "thousands of games" to scroll through. How about this, if we got an overhaul on the Steam Library, it includes a synopsis, and the ability to get rid of the news section of the game in the library, or to customize which sites it pulls the news from for you, since the two that pops up under the news section is pretty garbage. Would you find that acceptable? Hell, make it so that it includes YouTube and Bitchute channels if they could somehow in-corporate it without using too many resources(like perhaps, the link and the first part of the description before you have to click "Show More", and you click the link and it takes you to the video on your browser?)

dynastystar seriously has nothing better to do than sit in here and make clueless, petulant, non-arguments against another user's good idea? lifetime ban imo. stop trying to make your dumb-ass non-point.

i hope you and all the other simpleminded ppl who come with that "what's the big deal about one more click?" are in a critical situation someday where u fail miserably because you are tardy by exactly the duration of one mouse click. <--

i would find OP's idea helpful and -- without turning this into a 5-page rant -- have to agree that in general steam could make better use of ui space.

Just tested it out, did an extra click to go to the store page, I was at the store page in about 2 seconds(at least thats how long it took to load). Generally when I'm trying to decide to play, I might be stuck on deciding between 5 games that catch my eye in the library that I feel I am in the mood for, thats only maybe an extra 20 seconds total(2 seconds loading time to get to the store page, maybe 2 seconds to load back to the library perhaps a little more but thats only an additional 20 seconds of clicking). God forbid you have to take like 2 minutes to decide on a game you wanna play.
Middle click or control+click links to open new window.

It's been six years and still this is not a thing?

Two clicks is a LOT when I want to just casually remind myself what the game is about.

The person who said it's not that much to click once... well it's twice (once to go there, once to get back regardless of new window), and it disrupts flow. It's the reason I want headers and paragraph spaces. it's incredible what one second does for a user experience.

We can always dream I guess.
