Restrict games rated as +18 for under age users on STEAM !!!
Since i started to play games and interacted with so many worldwide user in Multiplayer games, I've encoutered lots of users that cannot behave for these kind of games that require a minimal maturity and bahviour to play ONLINE games.

Even the ban system sometimes works for these kids that play games above their understanding and their age requirements and which cannot play fair and use lots of cheats/hacks and exploits against people who want to play for fun or get relax after real time jobs, these people will always return to harm ONLINe gaming experience under stolen accounts or even new accounts with a new bought game to satisfy their stupid EGO !

This generation of gamers nowadays is doing a lot of sever damage to this industry and reviews over good new released games are becoming negative because these facts.

So under these facts, i ask you, STEAM Company and CEO, to take a serious measure against these real facts and era of new gamers that becoming real pain in the ass with their brainless behaviour, if you want to maintain a serious and mature atmosphere over your platform.

Your reputation among mature people is better than under these toxic behaviour people that will never stop from doing damage to anything they think it's fun.

How to prove that users have their real age on STEAM ? Very easy > Passport / real ID proof that proves that his age is real !

Also, if a real player is doing thefts acts on your platform, based on his real ID, it can be restricted from creating a new account if his behaviour doesn't fix in a established time to correct his stupidity.

it's not impossible to kill hackers that come all over again udner different names and IPs !

there are always simple ways to finish them all and give them a lesson that will fix their behaviour OR will permanently restrict access to your platform IF you care about your reputation among Worlwide community of mature and normal people !

Take actions now !!!

That's pretty much what they do in South Korea, if you want to look into it.

And there grows a thought that in these circumstances, the level of immaturity will not change.

It is illegal to sell an 18 rated game to an under 18 year old. This is why you have age gates etc. The PEGI system or the BBFC system is based around law and retailers can get in trouble for selling items to people under the age stated.

it is however *NOT* illegal for an under 18 to PLAY an 18 rated game. Even if somehow Valve magically did have a way to determine who was and wasn't under 18 and blocked the store page from them - it's entirely lawful for someone who is over 18 to purchase it and gift it to them and they can play it freely!

But even after all that - there's no way to prove who is using the PC so you'll never get a 'ID card' proof of anything anyway.

If you want kids free server then go on a server that is 18+ age rated. One does not exist? Then host one... It's not that complicated. In game called "Minecraft" cheating is being dealt with by server admins and that system works. Why can't other games do the same? It's hard to change an entire game, but it's easy to change a single server.

But note that systems like PEGI or the ESRB are not law. They're business regulations. You do not need to have your game ESRB rated to sell it on PC (Consoles do require it though)

Please realize that's not the case in all regions. In the United Sates, our Supreme Court ruled 7-2 that a Claifornia state law legally requiring retailers to enforce ESRB ratings was an unconstititional abridgement of our 1st Ammendment protections, in Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Association[en.wikipedia.org].

That only ruled that they couldn't be restricted based purely on being violent because that was deemed too broad a reason and other media isn't restricted for that. It didn't say sales couldn't be restricted at all just that there had to be a specific reason related to something that was widely considered unsuitable for younger audiences.

Considering the age number given and the position of the + in regards to the age, I would have to assume OP is in a foreign country and thus isn't covered by the 1st Amendment.
