Customize the four displayable steam badges on your profile

spending money to buy trading cards and craft a steam badge and then not able to custom select the four displayable badges on your steam profile is a big turn-off when it comes to levelling up ur steam account. I mean you have these really nice looking 4 steam badges on your profile and you level up your steam profile and one badge is gone with each level up. This is sorta annoying. yea i know we have steam badge showcase but that doesn't adorn your profile as much as a custom selection of 4 good looking steam badges would do. This really isn't that big a fix and should've been fixed by valve by now. As of now,badges are displayed on ur steam profile based on how recently it was crafted. The lastest badge is first and so on. Please fix this.

The four displayable badges are the 4 most recent you have earned and Valve has no intention of allowing that to change. If you want to display specific badges on your profile, earn and use the Badge Showcase. The best anyone who is actually bothered by this can hope for is Valve eventually allowing people to hide the recent badges from their profile. But allowing people to customize what badges go there is effectively giving people a free badge showcase which Valve isn't going to allow.

wow! is that first 15 yr old profile.

What about letting us choose at a certain steam level these 4 badges to be displayed i mean cmon i recently crafted this orange half life 2 badge and now when i want yo level up i will lose it . this really sucks

My account wasn't created till the day after Steam went live. I worked nights and was asleep and didn't get to create my account till the next day.

As far as being able to display a lower level version of the badge, that's a whole different request, one that many people have made. But if Valve is going to allow that in the future, they haven't said anything about it yet.

kinda lame that the only excuse for not making more customizable features and options for users is the multi billion dollar company potentially losing out on $30 more (or however much it cost spending money in game for enough points on point shop to afford a badge showcase.) regardless its just seems counterintuitive considering people who want badge displays probably want to display more than 4 badges like in the recently crafted display. not to mention the same logic of not displaying badges for free can be used even for recently created ones as wells, why display any badges if its a feature thats meant to be reserved for point shop purchases? You touched on this when you mention the best we can hope for is the feature to remove the recently crafted badges. in my opinion it only makes people who want to feature specific badges less likely to use features of steam that could conflict these badges. (engaging with community's content, leveling up account, BUYING GAMES, etc...)

i will be waiting until i receive my 2 year service medal in april before i craft badges, i wont be crafting now because if i do it now i will only have 5 months of 4 themed badges. then i will make sure not buy over 24 games on steam so i dont go down to only 3 badges. because most importantly once crafted u cannot recraft badges they are gone from the feature forever.
