Steam Notification for friends list wishlist changes and alerts

I think this is a win win with the new changes Steam has been doing with the friends panel. It got me thinking when I click add to wishlist today. I actually do want to know when my friends are browsing because Steam is all about games. If you leave your steam client on, it means you are all about games. I dont think theres any intrusion or privacy issues regarding notifications and records of friends adding something or removing something from their wishlist.

This also creates and sets up a mass wave twitter phenomena. For example, one day you are gaming on steam and suddenly you see 5 ppl remove the same game from your steam notification, wouldn't that be an interesting bit of news?

Best option would be to give wishlist alerts an on/off setting if people get dicey with this but me personally? I would like to get notified about those things from my Steam Friends list
