TOGGLE to SWITCH to OLD UI

This new UI is horrendous (the chat and friends list inparticular..) the old one was much more legible and to be honest I have been using Steam less because of it. To each their own and I know what they say about opinions, but ... mine is that it's not sooooo gooooodddddddd

Right click your steam shortcut and click properties then add the above commands at the end of the "target" field.
So it should look like this ; "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\Steam.exe" -nochatui -nofriendsui

That will give you the old UI.

Yep fully agree on this. Nobody asked for this forced insecure bugfest. Just stop fighting against social media platforms -.-. I don't have a Facebook account for a reason. Why fix something if it ain't broken. Well I'm having a great time with the old ui

I don't mind adding the command line arguments (I've done it on both my computers), but I'd still like the option to choose "NEW DISCORDFACEBOOK" or "OLD STEAM".

The toggle is necessary as something with the new client is a resource hog. It also looks rather unpleasant. Having to use workarounds for something which should be a mere skin is not good planning.

Thanks for the command lines, I really would love an offered "Steamlite" that reverted everything back to pre-update. Not a fan

+1 for old version. Added the command lines and never looked back. Fun fact though: Apperently emotes I send to friends using the new UI only appear as their text form instead of a small picture(emote). Example: Do you see an emote or the word : killenemy :? Remember, that bug only occurs in friends chat not here in the discussions.

except it's not progress.. it's changing stuff just to change stuff at this point.. you don't need to bloat the friends list with unremovable catagories and stuff just cause you feel like putting them there

The usual thing with companies nowadays. Change stuff to make it pretty whilst consuming more resources to do the same thing, use up as much empty space as possible and my favourite....take more steps to do complete an action.

Like clock and month view for calenders and stuff on smart apps. Example, A simple 06082019 is quick and simple. Damn month view = 12 clicks for month by month changes to set a date 1 year from now. A date 18 months from now needs 18 versus a simple number entry.
