Disable Embedded Images and Media in Chat

I love that you've added this option, however I think it needs an slight upgrade. It would be great to have more granular control over where embedded media can be disabled, at least separate friends and groups, perhaps even private and public groups. A per group basis would be nice as well, though perhaps with a whitelist/blacklist feature as some users are in a large number of groups.

I agree. I’m avoiding coming online on chat just because I don’t like image spam, especially from private messages.

The option to do this is in a sepperate preferences menu (which is.. ugh.) Open your friends list, click the gear icon in the top right, click on the chat tab, click to turn on the option "Do not allow loading images/media in line". No more imbedded links/images

That does it for all chat, not allowing me to allow friends to embed links but deny groups. You have control of who your friends are but unless you are the sole admin for every group you are in and they are all private you don't have that kind of control for the groups you are in.

Not only can it be a trolling/security issue, but it takes up valuable screen real estate. Thanks for the tip, @Bloom, if I ever go back to the new UI, I'll turn that off, too.
