So I doubt it's going to be removed. Also the reason most people use it is to just not be bothered by anyone.
Why don't they use offline status then? Only because they want to stalk others. That's it.
Because when you're offline you don't see people coming online. And one might be actually waiting till a certain person comes online.
Don't assume to know the motivations of other people.
This suggestion is flawed because someone who is using invisible mode simply has to logoff (or use a different browser) to see your status.
I mean seriously, if you don't like them, why did you friend them?
Who cares if they appear offline, what are they going to do? Look at their activity feed to see if you bought/wishlist a game, screenshots, liked or made new guides, friend someone, or join a group? Don't even need to be Invisible to see all that, and you wouldn't know they seen it either, you wouldn't know regardless what they're doing anyways either they appear online, offline, or etc..
Ok, so what nice friends do YOU have if you need to hide from them?
I can only repeat: If you don't want to be bothered use offline status. Or the "Do not disturb" option. Would be the same result as the invisible mode for you.
I personally see no reason for this invisible mode except the one I stated
And that's my problem. I like them and I want to play with them. But I can't because they are in invisible mode all the time.
Then your problem is with your friends and how they use Steam.
if they're in invisible mode... they obviously don't want to be bothered to play a game! presumably they're invisible rather than 'Do not Disturb' is because you would just send lots of: "Ohh come on! Play a game!!!!" messages?
How is it 'stalking' when they can see your status regardless if they are offline or online
They only way they can see anything is if they are you friends. Making the 'stalking' analogy moot. Heck people can see your status even if they're not your friends anyway. So how is an invisible person 'stalking' you when literally everyone can see your status.
Others of us have reasons why we want it or not. Being offline isn't all about you, you know. Sometimes people dont want to be bothered.
There is nothing stopping you from sending a message to them at the time you want to play asking if they are around and if they want to play too. If they want to play with you, they will respond so, but if they don't they could still respond without everyone else seeing that they are online or they could just ignore you.
It could also be that they are just not online at the time.
either way, this is not about them stalking you as you seemed to try to make it seem calling it stalker mode. If anything its you that is stalking them, waiting to see them online so that you can ask them to play.
Even if they are offline they can still get messages, its not like there is anything stopping you from sending them, and nothing stopping them replying.
