If you want to disable getting a notification about someone playing something. On friend list, click on the gear, a new window will pop up, click on the "notification" tab, now uncheck the show a notification box for "When a friend joins a game" then problem solved.

I'm aware of the general switch off. That is as I pointed out initially NOT what I want.
Now you want something a filter you can custom just like emails on gmail, outllok, or etc? But for things that notify to often?
and no they only started the game up one time...
I would like the notification they are playing a game but not for it to go off for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ 20 minutes straight
Ever since MonsterHunter launch, I would get spam of it, due to the game bug, which you have to relaunch the game to fix the bug. So I just turn it off for the time, until they get sick of it, then turn it back on after they all stop playing the game after week, or so.
