Put spam filter on "friend plays now" notifications
I have a friend who plays Monster Hunter World - or he tries to. He crashes all the time or logs in and out to try settings. And that for an hour or so since release nearly every day. And I keep having these "xxx plays now" pop up, disapppear, almost immediately pop up again ALL THE TIME. Please put a kind of spam filter on this as it is disruptive.

Open friend list and press the cogwheel.

You could read my suggestion (carefully this time) again and maybe want to give a response that actually addresses the problem pointed out?

You could try at least... There are notifications settings there, you could just turn them off.

So you want an option to select which person to single out for notification, or just want the option to disable getting a notification when someone playing something?

If you want to disable getting a notification about someone playing something. On friend list, click on the gear, a new window will pop up, click on the "notification" tab, now uncheck the show a notification box for "When a friend joins a game" then problem solved.

No, I want a filter that is common for chats, forum posts etc which is called a "spam filter" where someone can't trigger a certain action too often within a certain time. In this case trigger the "is playing now" function.

I'm aware of the general switch off. That is as I pointed out initially NOT what I want.

You lost me at forums... What does forms posts have anything to do with your friend list notification??? How about unsubscribe to those discussions, instead of staying in them, if you think they're spam to you.

Now you want something a filter you can custom just like emails on gmail, outllok, or etc? But for things that notify to often? :conwayshrug: I mean just turn off the notification about someone playing something for the time being, clearly you don't want to see people keep poping up saying they're playing something.

I agree there must be some sort of bug going on since when people join a game it will spam me with (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game) 5 seconds later (so and so is now playing X game)

I understand what you mean, for now just turn the notification off, or tell that person to stop relaunching the game so many times. Who knows if they will add a delay of someone launching a game, or not. But if you're saying it's a bug like it's spamming what they're playing, but they didn't relaunch the game or anything, then that would be a bug that need to be fix.

Ever since MonsterHunter launch, I would get spam of it, due to the game bug, which you have to relaunch the game to fix the bug. So I just turn it off for the time, until they get sick of it, then turn it back on after they all stop playing the game after week, or so.
