Too much anime and now "adult" anime?
I have been on Steam for a very long time and I always thought it was a game platform for the gaming community with a great variety of single and multi player games for realtively older and newer games. This platform is now seeming to evolve into far too much anime and now, "adult" anime? Nudity and sexual content?? You seriously have to be joking!! There may have been games with in the past with fleeting glimpses of nudity in various examples, but but now, this platform is being flooded with sexual anime?? I don't know who is steadily allowing this type of content on this platform but I think it should stop. Allow some anime on there, but for the "indie" coding machine that is creating this type of genre, it should be stopped.

Why do some people have this problem? I'll see some anime style games while browsing, but never on the level that people here claim. If i didn't know any better, i'd think every other game they scroll past is anime. Doesn't it go based off of previous searches or at least the games you already own?

I know very well that you can control what you see and don't see, that is not the point. It is not a case of restricting your search parameters; it is a simple case of what is appearing as a whole and it seems to be becoming a trend. I keep my search patterns non-restrictive and like to see all content. I personally don't like anime in any form, but I see it as a genre that has a following like some many others genres so in that perspective, it has its own place.

Then, it appears that you don't know anything. What I showed you has nothing to do with "search parameters"..

You have TOTAL control over what APPEARS on your store page.

I'll even show you the path Account Details ----> Update Store Preferences

Again, this is what appears on your Store page.....nothing to do with searching.

I think that what caused the surge is that there are applications on Steam that allow people to create this stuff easily - ie this:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/495480/Visual_Novel_Maker/

So, there are basically tools for this stuff to easily flood into Steam.

What part of "discussed to death" dont you understand? :signstop:
This is actually a recurring phenomen. For example, during the 80ies/90ies of the 20th century, there was an explosive popularity of heavy metal music. Despite many people regarding heavy metal as something outright evil, metal bands were formed left and right. Many succeeded and became popular (a little or a lot), many, many more never really took off. Either way, part of the appeal lies in the "shock value", which fades over time. Basically, it's just a passing fad, not the end of the world.

Yep fair enough "ploppo". I understand that the tools are out there but I just think there is too much of this creeping in.
As far as discussing it (other poster), Who do you think you are, the discussion police? Even if you were I would still tell you to jump off and bite it. What a tool!!

Yep, totally get it. I am not saying that all anime shoud go...I know quite a few friends that like it, so of course things change. Thats it for me.....I won't be discussing this further. Thanks for the discussion from people that actually had a real viewpoint.

You're still annoying, could have used the search function and see that this has been already brought up thousands of times. But you've gotta be noticed of course :cuphead:

"I think your view is hogwash" =/= "I didnt' listen to your view". Contrary to popular belief, opinions should not be respected merely for existing.

Steam gives you extensive tools to control what you want or don't want to see on its storefront. Use those tools and stop demanding that Steam shoulod "remove" or "stop" content you personally find offensive. You've been given the tools to avoid it.

The world doesn't revolve around you, Steam does not exist to cater to your whims. Get over yourself, stop imagining that you're more important than you actually are, and get on with your life.
