Formatting links in comment section
Formatting links in comment section doesn't work despite it's hinted to be supported by "formatting help" guide.

The main problem is the fact that all kind of links are ignored to be formatted, even trusted ones to steam and YT. I suggest adding an possibility to add at least trusted links support for formatting and if possible, links to external sites always protected by steam warning.

It would help to maintain some aesthetics and possibilities to embed links in emoticons for e.g.

Comment section hyperlink formatting
I noticed that CUSTOM_TEXT doesn't work in comment section. An attempt ends with steam displaying the link, but completely ignoring the custom text, just as i would post a link alone.

Was it always like that?

Is there a specific reason for such behaviour? The syntax is hinted in the "formatting help" button, what's the reason to put it there if it's completely not supported (yet it generally works everywhere else, even in screenshot comment section)?

Security reasons shouldn't be a case, steam related safe links could be hidden within text, but any other non related links are tagged with informative marker or you are warned that you are leaving steam if steam forwarder is used.

Users can embed any URL into the text with the correct tags.

That can lead to trouble.

Others still click it even if the domain would be displayed.

Your explanation doesn't pose much of a vital reason cause you can post a link into a comment like "my arts: http............" (you just can't format it) and a person who won't pay attention to a domain will click it anyway, not to mention that you can use link shortening websites to hide original address. If this really would be the case, only trusted links to steam and youtube would be allowed.

Embedded link...

My Profile[www.gametracker.com]

You see the details (domain) on the right.

They ignore that or just don't see it; and still go ahead regardless of Steam's URL filter.

That's how it would likely appear in the comment section.

Even trusted links to a steam are not formatted and as i said a person who won't pay attention to a clear warning from steam, won't pay attention even to a full URL posted in the comment. A link to your profile just links me directly without a warning?
