A ridiculous issue with Family Sharing : F2P MMO
Let's say my kids are playing on my library (Left 4 Dead 2) from another computer and I want to play some Free 2 Play MMO game (Crossout) from my Steam library, I can't or they'll get kicked out. Could you find some exemption solution for Free 2 Play games. I know i could just play them outside, but that sounds like a stupid workaround for something that should have been thought of.

No, there are reasons for this. Family share is meant for a way to allow the games on your account to be played remotely, either by family, or yourself. But the fact is, it's still YOUR account playing a game, and only one instance of steam can be running at once for playing a game, f2p or not. Buy your kids L4D2 and you can play your f2p games in peace.

You don't know how Family Sharing works. No, it's isn't my account playing the game, it isn't in-home streaming there, you can still gain your own achievements. It is their account using my licences (like using a CD-key), doesn't mean there can't be exceptions.

that's the point, when it's using a license on your account, it's treated as being played by YOU. you'll get the same problem if you run a steam idler and try to play a game because it's opened in a new sandbox instance; only one set of licenses/person playing on the account itself.

You're not making any sense, also my "account" or "me" could play dozen different games on the same system, so why "me" can't on another system at the same time. Regardless, doesn't mean F2P shouldn't be exempted from library lock. There is no legal reason to. Those games can be downloaded off Steam, so locking them in Steam isn't necessary.

No, a shared library may only be accessed by one user at a time.

Do you even know what a suggestion is about? The point here is that F2P should be exempted because they don't have the same EULA as other games that would, more or less, justify a library lock.

Note that F2P games can also have things like DLC which are also shared duing family sharing

that's why F2P games still count as 'shared' since paid content is also shared during the session

That's a sensible answer... although F2P with DLC are usually added to your F2P game account. Even if you played on your friend's WoW account with LichKing expension and you don't own it you still wouldn't have access.

The point is that because a games is F2P doesn't mean that it doesnt have paid content which would preclude it from being shared or playing at the same time. Which is why playing a F2P game counts as playing the 'library'

As said before, DLC or whatever paid content is uselessly tied to your Steam account because it still need to be activated to your game account. To begin with they aren't "DLC", they are "Unlocks" and those unlocks are tied to your game account. I'm not talking of thos single-player F2P here, I mean MMOs, sorry for the confusion if any.
