Steamworks Common Redistributables updates need to stop stopping me from playing my games.

This feature needs improvement. I have a 1.5 mbps internet connection. I cannot download 500MB in less than a minute. It takes me an hour to download this crap and this is the second time my friends had to wait on me for THIS UPDATE. I'm trying to keep my cool here but this needs to change. When I get stopped from playing a game it should only be for a GAME update. I. Do. Not. Need. These. Updates. For. Games. I. Have. Installed. It stops me from playing ALL my games. Please change it, thank you.

It doesnt usually need to download that whole amount. Most is duplicates that are for other installed games and never get downloaded.

That's why it is the shared common redists.

Those are just updates to games I don't play anymore. The top one is my problem. It's stopping me from playing any of my games. For an hour and a half now. My friends are playing without me and I'm stuck watching a progress bar because I can't do anything without slowing the download. You can see my dilemma.

Because a batch update for the prerequisites for games you have installed was pushed out.
