Disable Family Sharing notification pop-ups
I would like to disable the notifications that pop up telling me when my family member's shared library is available for play. It happens every time they stop playing a game, and I find it intrusive when it happens this often, and would like to disable it.

I think they should keep it annoying, so that people buy the games for the other person or encourage the person to buy it for themselves so that it gives the game makers more incentive to keep working on more games or updates to the game, or DLC for the game.
The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

What on earth... There IS a setting for it.

That's so weird. I went to Steam Support first, and they told me
I understand you want to make it so you're not notified when someone you are sharing with library's become available. **While this isn't currently a feature, I completely get why you would want that. I'm forwarding your comments to the appropriate department.**

Additionally, if you wish to share an opinion, suggestion, or idea with the community as well, please visit the Suggestions/Ideas section of the Steam Discussion forums.

Thanks SparkyCarton, you're officially more knowledgeable about Steam Settings than Steam Support is. Haha.

Apologies for the necropost, but since this is still on the first page of Google results for searching for this problem, I think it's prudent to note that with the new UI there's been a small update to this method:

"Show notification when shared libraries become available" (it no longer says "again") is now only visible if you check "Authorize Library Sharing on this device", still within the "Family" page of Steam Settings.

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
