No since people would abuse it and you would have HORRBLY LONG showcases

Loading for users with limited bandwidth or poor connections already have issues looking at profiles.

Good thought and some, sure. I just think it is overkill.

I would worry about the layout in case of such additions. Currently, profiles are working okay in high- and low resolution display (in the latter case, the backgrounds might get a little lost, but that's about it).
If you add varying numbers of items in showcases, this will work far less well. You can't stretch them further sideways without messing with the whole design, and if you add a second or third row, it might look dumb, if there's a lone item in there.

And as said above, with artworks manipulated to turn into videos by some users, at least these should be kept at a minimum in the main profile.

Wouldn't it just end up looking like garbage though? By those stats I'd be able to stick 11 achievements on a showcase. They would either have to shrink the icons to fit the screen, or they would be cut off/pushed over and look super janky. I think there's a reason why the current showcases are limited in what you can place in them.

Although I do kinda like the idea of some new/different showcases.

You have seen those achievement spam games with 5000 of them, right?

it would be nice to be able to showcase more than 5 games total. Of course there should be a limit, maybe 10.

This could be solved if instead of adding +1 game into Game Showcase for each 100 games, we get 1 additional row of 4 games for each 400 owned games.

About artwork, yeah maybe they should be excluded from extending at all.
I want this feature mainly because games and items showcase. When you have 1200+ games, it's hard to pick only 4 to showcase.

Those icons are low resolution and don't use much bandwidth.
Resolution of item is 192x192. One profile background is equal of 56 item icons
Badge is 80x80. Profile picture=324 badges
Featured games icon is 186x69. Profile picture=161 game icons.

You'd use more bandwidth to load store page of one game than profile page with extended showcases.

If game have more than 1000 achievements in total then don't count them towards this at all?
Maybe then it would even reduce number of Achievement spam games because those achievements would be totally useless for this.

I like the idea of more slots per showcase, based on lvl. However there is a limit on how large such a showcase be: Not only for performance reasons but also because people would not want a showcase several screens high on their profile.
In order to overcome this problem, I suggest that bade/achievement/item showcases could optionally be animated in a way that the items shown change wafter a few seconds and the showcase randomly rotate through all the objects of the specific type the profile owner has.
With this feature there could also be a preference option like "rare" or "most recent".
This option would work in a way that an animated "rare" show case would show rare badges / achievements with a higher probability than common ones while still showing the more common ones once in a while.
