Steam download caching on local network
having multiple users on the network all downloading games off steam can really bring your internet connection to a halt, there needs to be a feature where steam can pick up other computers with the game you wish to install and take it from that computer and not an external steam server. this would reduce server load on your side. or make a program that can run on NAS's that run 24/7 that can download all the latest updates for your steam library and then distribute them to household users when they are all getting on their machines this would still be faster than downloading from a steam server. cheers and hopefully this feature will get implemented.

Yup. Agreed. There is a local content cache available as part of the site licence program ( https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/sitelicense ) but it would be really nice to have it also available for people who don't want to go through the rigmarole of onboarding for site licences, and/or built into the regular Steam client so that local clients on a LAN can automatically P2P-swarm downloads.

there is a way through doing some clever little networking DNS's and such but its something that should have been added years ago into their client, actually windows has this feature on windows 10 it will download from other local devices with the update
