Minecraft: Can and Will it come to Steam?
Minecraft is a pretty successful game, releasing versions for PC, Phone, X-box, Wii U, AND PS4, but should it come to steam?
One arguement i found while searching through it is that it is popular as it is, which is true, but the thing about it though is that most users have to use a credit card, and considering the incomprehensible number of people who's credit cards have ben stole, it would be a lot safer to just get a card (such as a Steam card) that you can buy from a store (Such as Walmart) and deposit the money to buy it anyways.
Not only that, but Minecraft has Mods. We all know this, And I messed around will Add-ons in Garry's Mod... Doesn't seem that different. Plus think about what it could bring: Servers with Freinds, Speical Steam Merch, And, not only that, but it would also allow more people to play Minecraft PC Edition. Finally, with the Steam comets, it could allow people who don't have Twitter or Facebook to give ideas for new updates to Minecraft.
Case and Point: Minecraft SHOULD come to Steam. Many may disagree, but it doesn't matter if you agree or disagree with my case, because in my heart i believe minecraft should come to steam.

if you want minecraft on steam , talk to the developer/publisher. If they dont want to put it here, it will not be here.

Mojang has said before that they don't want to bring it to Steam because then they would have to follow Valve's rules. Also they wouldn't want to fragment the playerbase between Steam users and non-Steam users.
Also they are now part of Microsoft, and Minecraft brings a lot of people to the Microsoft store.

I can't imagine what in Steam's rules would ... well outside that they'd have to pay steam a per sale commission. Mostly it boils down to the same real reason LoL isn't on steam. They both give BS reasons, but really it boils down to they don't see the need for Steam. They both already had massive player bases to begin with so they don't gain anything.

That and since they were bought by MS they've kinda gone another way.

My best bet is they don't want the hassle that comes with steam (valve cuts, forums that require mods etc) and they've been going strong for years I doubt they would Bring to steam now.

Plus minecraft is pre installed with Windows 10 IIRC.

That must be it, I got Windows 10 a long time ago so I forgot it was just an ad.
Thanks for correcting me!

It's more about the cut and again, they already had a million pluss players without steam. Minecraft being bought by MS pretty much means they'll be holding it as an exclusive MS game
