Hiding Games From Family Sharing
Would it be possible to share your Steam library, but choose which games are able to be seen and played? I am not talking about Family View, where you choose which games can be accessed on a specific account with a pin code. I mean selecting what games I want to share and hide without "parenting" the account with which I am sharing. Thanks for reading and possibly considering this. :)

Nope. All libraries are shared as a whole. And that may never change.

This guy is someone you should talk with or at least look through his post history about Family Sharing...

The less people pay attention to their post, the more time they waste with said posts. Simply seems like someone wanting to share their games for free with friends.

@OP You do know that you can have more than one free Steam account, right? Put the games you don't want to share on one account and don't share it. If you've already bought games on that account, stop sharing on that account and create a new free Steam account and buy the games on the new account that you want to share.

This plan is evil and straight from the pit. I did think about it though... but that means creating a new email, new account, rebuying multiple games, and re-adding friends to the account. Not to mention starting at steam level zero.
This is all doable, but why should we have to live a double gaming life when developers have the power to add this in?

The new Steam account is free. You can family share any games from your primary that will share. This costs you almost nothing to separate out accounts. I know because I've been doing it for a long time. There's nothing evil about playing by the rules.

Ah, but we are back to square one now. Family Sharing the whole library instead of only certain games. At the moment, the only solutions are to stop sharing completely or to continue sharing and have a second account with the games I don’t want to share.
It would be nice to be able to choose what games are shared in Family Sharing without using Family View or creating a new account just to hide games.

I want to share my games with my dad (he's 70), introduce him to other games (he only play Serious Sam games), but I don't want to risk my account getting a vac ban, game ban or whatever because him installing something without knowing the risk.
Oh, well, I'm not showing him any games, then.

I don’t see how your account would get banned. Unless your dad uses cheats, but even then I think it would only affect his account. One of my friends used hacks in Dark Souls and his account was banned, but he family shared with his other account and continued playing until the ban was lifted.

In case of VAC it certainly can affect both accounts. See the VAC page: https://support.steampowered.com/kb/7849-RADZ-6869/valve-anti-cheat-system-vac#share

And the relevant quote from said page:
Will I be punished if someone sharing my Library cheats?
Your Family Sharing privileges may be revoked and your account may also be VAC banned if your library is used by others to cheat. Additionally, VAC-banned games cannot be shared between accounts. We recommend you only authorize Steam Accounts and computers you know to be secure, and as always, never give out your password to anyone or share your account.

You bet I am. Just kidding. I share my library with my mom and I didn’t want her seeing Dark Souls. I ended up creating a new steam account and rebuying the games at discount from G2A.G 2 A
