FNaF Movie Discussion

Not trying to throw shade on Scott Cawthon, but seeing all his new updates has me concerned.

To keep this short, I really think there are 3 things that need to happen for the film to have any chance of being successful.

1. Scott needs to step away from the production process and just let Blumhouse do what they do best. Again, not trying to bad mouth him, but his style of storytelling is just not gonna work in the film industry.

2. The storyline should have absolutely NOTHING to do with the Afton Family story. At most a name drop or vague reference, but the last thing the film needs is to be drug into the complex storyline of the games and books. Not to say it can't be in the same continuity, but just let the film be its own thing. Of course keep the Animatronics, that's what we're excited for, but give us a whole new cast of fresh characters, could even make a new series of films with these new characters, giving an outsiders perspective of the mystery of Freddy Fazbear's. Just keep the Aftons out of it.

3. Avoid censoring. Films censoring themselves is almost a guaranteed way to make them boring. People are tired of boring. Be like Deadpool, just go for it. Don't be afraid to show some violence or even some gore, hell, take it all the way and push for a solid R rating. Just don't let the film become yet another movie too worried about marketability to be entertaining.

Again I want to reiterate, I am NOT trying to badmouth Scott. He's accomplished some great things with the games, but being as involved as he is with the film is just bound for disaster. In the interest of giving the world a FNaF film as good as one could be, Scott needs to back off a bit and let Blumhouse take over. Blumhouse knows how to do horror, and Chris Columbus might surprise us all.

All the pieces of a good horror film are there, just put them in the right places.
