Trade Lock Items
With having a 7-day after buying, It made me fell safer with my items as they are locked to my account and can't be accessed even if someone where to hack me. So I would Love it if valve implemented a system where you can self trade lock your items. Such as my knife for an example, I know I'm not going to trade it this year so I Would like to trade lock the item to my account. So if someone where to hack me the knife would be safe no matter what. And with all the api scammers these days, I think its a vaible option.

so every week you want to go thru your inventory and click a button that locks it to the account for the week?

would be a lot easier to just protect your log in and not use shady sites. Accounts are not hacked, they are hijacked because the account own gave away their log in.

So you want for example: me to be able to lock one item in my inventory but not like other items for the same game? Isn't that like complicated and weird?, idk just saying. :heartb:

Actually I think this would be a good idea. Some variety of either temporary or permanent "flagging" of an item as 'not currently for sale' or 'permanently locked' would be nice for those as the OP states, who aren't going to be doing any trading for a while, but might want to eventually return to it.

Some items are account-bound already, like some of the portal / tf2 things early on. Though of course it would have to come with a plethora of warnings - "This item will be PERMANENTLY locked to your account and will never be tradeable in the future ARE YOU REALLY SURE".

In the meantime, OP, make your inventory or profile private, and then as suggested: turn off Steamguard.

Ya, or at least not being traded right now would be nice. Cause I hate being offered for the same item in my inventory that im not currently trading

This would be the best reason for making an item untradable (trade locked). I don't trade much and I've had to deal with people trying to drag unrelated things into a trade a few times. I can't imagine who annoying it is for people who trade frequently and have to keep filing counter offers or just outright declining ridiculous trades when the other person won't stick to the posted trade offer.

And seeing the item trade locked isn't going to stop people from sending you offers anyway.

That's specifically the reason why you no longer can see who is selling certain items on the market. People kept sending trade offers to users with items on the marketplace.

These trade offers are like spam, the receiver has little say in getting it.

That being said, a trade lock would have its benefits, like accidentally not trading or selling the wrong item, for example.
