Can You Run It?
Hi Steam team.

Trust you are well.

Sometimes we buy games that is not even compatible with our PC. I know the system requirements are at the bottom of each game but not all of us are computer savy, but thank you for that. So i don't know what a "Intel Core 2 Duo at 2Ghz, or AMD Athlon 64 x2 2Ghz" is. so i use an external web app that compare my PCs capabilities to the games capabilities. But it gets kind of annoying to go out of steam and so on. Would there be a way you can put a link in steam to show the compatibilities of the PC and the Game?

Kind Regards.

Not gonna happen/. Please use the search function.

TL;DR
it would not be 100% accurate and Valve would be legally and financially liable for all the times it is inaccurate. This is why you don't find such features on stores that sell software. Only on 3rd party sites affiliated with the store.
That sucks.. it would have been cool though.

Just kinda yadda yadda'd that one. If they were to implement a feature such as what you're asking, you would have to perform a few clicks to have it check your system, the exact same as if you were to go to a site that already does this.

Your are computer savvy enough to install software and operate a pc, which means you can of course use google to research what you have compared to what the game is demanding. I grew up during a time where we didn't exactly have google (hell even askjeeves for that matter) and managed to figure out "Hey, I have (insert specs), but I have 2 gb less ram than minimum. Welp, by using general logic, I do not have enough ram to run this game. You don't even know what the function of the parts are (gfx card, ram, etc), you just have to use basic counting/math. processor speed, if a game's asking for 2.8ghz minimum, you check your system specs and see your process is 2.4ghz, it may not run as expected since 2.4 is less than 2.8.

You can go to system properties in control panel to see what your specs are and should save a screenshot of it for reference when browsing games. Part of the pc gaming world is knowing what you have and if it is compatible with what is being demanded, don't exactly need a cs degree to learn a few basic properties.
