Steam is basically a browser page now, everything is connected to the browser including the game list, the resource usage is pathetic.

If u guys want to save ur resources add this to Steams shortcut path

-console -no browser

Keep in mins that if u do this EVERYTHING on the main page will be disabled including the game list so ull have to use previous games to play one.

To make it easier have 1 modified steam shortcut and one normal 1 so u can easily switch between them

Guys and Gals, I just tried this and it works great! Right back to the old UI for Library.

The only bad thing is it disables all Steam Updates or else it will go back to the bad touchie place Steam Library.

I really don't like the way this new crap looks, not to disrespect the people who were in charge of designing it, but I would really like the option to revert back to the old style.

Just adding another voice to the "allow us to chose how this looks" crowd. The new UI has a few nice features, but I do not care about 95% of what you're showing me, it requires more resources to accomplish less, and is unnecessarily cluttered with garbage.

I don't need to see community stuff, what do I have to gain from a bunch of pervy Russians uploading screen caps of an ass?
I don't need to sort my games, because I already put them in groups, and I want them in alphabetical order
the only game news I care about is the ones from the games I play
and I even hid games I was never going to play by putting them in one group and keeping the tab closed

I am going to go out on a limb and suggest that people that complain care about the product and don't want to see it ruined or worsened or simply made unpalatable to them in some way.

The truly angry leave. But that is hard to do when you have been a customer for years and have many games that, oh, can't be played outside of the ecosystem that changed in a manner one doesn't approve of.

Which causes a great deal of resentment in those people that can't keep using things the way they expect to.

So what about the other 1.5 million active users who isn't talking about this? Right now the number of people who complain is just a small drop in a big big bucket. Why listen to the minority when the majority of the people don't care. People said the same thing about the chat, it died out quickly.
