What Features? They removed Features from what I know, & didn't replace them
with New ones.

But I agree with everything you said, I feel the same way, fact is, unless it's totally
unavoidable, I don't even use the STEAM Interface. I instead Open STEAM, go to
Interface top right corner, & click the X button... All I have shown most of the time is
System Tray Icon, & STEAM Friends List shown.

The New Interface is so visually bad it actually bothers my eyes to look at it.

But STEAM is not the only ones who've changed. Windows10 did a simular change
right around the same time. & my Cable Company has done that as well.

It's like we are going backwards in time.

I'm just waiting for 4:3 TV's to come back, & VHS Quality Content. I dunno why anyone
would wanna go back to that again, o_@

I feel the same in this regard. There are many companies who have followed this god forsaken trend and made their product look like a mobile app despite it's used only on desktops.

Actually it's not only the look but even the loss of features and option is a common theme that occurs with such a change. Most of the time it's forced on the user with some dumb reasons from their marketing Departement that explain "why this thing is sooo much better". And if people complain, because it actually is worse in many regards, than they completely ignore those people. Just happens so many times nowadays...

IMO it's just lazy, cheap design. I work in web development, and find that if you optimize a websit exclusively for mobile devices, the conversion rates for those visiting on desktops is crap, and if you design only for desktops, mobile conversion rates suffer. We web developers came up with a solution for that problem, it's called "Responsive Design" which means the code will dynamically choose whether to use the moble or desktop design based on some sort of parameter, usually either by looking for a device type, browser agent or most commonly, screen size. Visit a website on your desktop, and manually resize your browser window to about the width of a phone's screen and you'll see the website auto adjust it's layout and design to compensate on the fly. Resize it back to normal and it'll adjust back to a desktop design. You can see this very thing in operation on my own website at www.radiantfreedom.com.
Companies like Valve and your cable company should look into it, and use if for their apps if they want the best results.

What mobile devices is the full client used on anyway? I'm using the android one right now & it's nothing at all like the desktop one - so basically they've made a mobile app for a desktop. We've seen where that ends up already..

Ooh, there's an idea, Classic Shell for Steam! I don't know if that was meant to be a joke but that sounds like a great idea! Then we can tweak the interface beyond just basic skins and have the version of Steam that we want!

1. Use the various sources (most quoted sources I've seen are on YouTube) to rollback your Steam client to the version before the new library with config file edits to prevent it from updating.

2. Stop using the Steam client altogether.

Both are viable solutions.

Have users have a choice to switch between the new library design and the old library design.

This would help a lot for some people. In my opinion the new library design is clunky and over informative. It would be nice to have the old design at least as a option in steam to change between.
