Just give us something similar to ublock origin

i may be (am) severely ignorant towards such things but i keep hearing that nearly everything in steam is a chrome/chromium browser's

idk how close it actually is to chrome but if we were allowed addons such as ublock origin that can block or remove any element from a webpage then we could have much more control over our pages and wouldnt have to beg valve to add customization to the library and store

in-store streams? blocked
curators? blocked
whats new in the library? blocked
community sections in the library? blocked

problem solved, valve doesnt have to do much additional work and people can have control over their library and store pages


yes i know its not that simple and that i'm ignorant, i just want to understand why they're against customization

It absolutely is not that simple, it's not the chrome browser so much as code.

Also: maybe try the Steam Client Beta as there's apparently a tremendous amount more stuff that has been asked about, already integrated. I don't use it, so I can't say what specifically, but... worth looking at just in case it's already present and accounted for.

What's New - Can be removed by editing the libraryroot.css file. Have fun.

Community sections on library? - In settings, Under library, Disable COmmunity COntent..

Streams on Library Pages? - Low Bandwidth Mode/ Low Performance mode. Under Library in the client settings.

Streams on STore pages - Edit the Css files or use Steam Skin that hides these things.

Advertisements Masquerading as news on Library Pages? - I have never seen any. Only thing I see are things about updates, and new dlc, though the latter is rather rare. Examples needed.

So Two of 5 already have toggles in the client. Two of 5 can be addressed by tweaking things yourself, and one needs a bit more clarification.
