So, although Valve may not lower its rates as Tim Sweeney himself demanded in his ultimatum. Valve may just let them still grow by using Steam for advertising. Instead of hitting them with a hammer and make their monopoly even stronger.
I could accept such an answer.
So, with that collection that seem to be up for 5 month now, and doesn't have a release date. It got SIX games in it that need to be ported from console to PC. There is a technical reason why you may not predict a true release date. However, the exclusives on the Epic store are all PC games already. No porting required. And a deal normally sets the time spam black-on-white on how long the exclusive deal is supposed to go.
And yet, those Epic games here don't seem to have even a date. It's not a problem now. but I suspect they will abuse the system. First it's 6 month, then a year, then maybe even 2 or more without any intention to actually release the game on Steam, but abuse Steam as an advertising platform instead of an actual shop/store.
Epic proved to be radical. They bought studios, they payed big dollars to bind devs to their store. You think that they wouldn't just go further and stretch the release data for years if they can? Let's see... and don't hold your breath.
What I suggest is really just that, an idea. Maybe a stupid idea, but, hey, in the end it's Valve who decides and not me anyways.
I just have on single bad feeling with the Epic store, and that is that devs can turn off the reviews if they want. Which makes me wonder since Epic is already quite ambitious with its moves, how far they are willing to go? Removing games from the Store? Oh, that's no problem. But will they also remove bought games from your library? They are not DRM free as far as I know..
