Remove Epic Exclusives from the Store
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not aware that any game from any platform just appeared on Steam Store while still being exclusive. They do when they about to come out in about say ~6 months or so and usually with an actual date. And not for just being there making use of the free advertising that they get while being on the Steam store page. But of course can't be bought on Steam, but must be bought on Epic store instead.

I think this should be a simple consequence. They mouth of about Steam, don't want to be part of Steam and pay their share, so be it. Remove their games from the store until they actually intend to sell it here.

Do you know when it was put on the store? I'm not aware that's hanging around there for a year already.

It's been 5 months do far...

So, it's still within the reach of the 6 month that I suggested. Maybe on year should be the total limit.

You seem not to understand that new regulation can prevent from any game to go exclusive once it's on the Steam store. Or get a refund once the devs decided to go somewhere else.

That in turn would make Valve look bad and pushes developers away from the platform, not towards it.
Well, I get the idea of not to "over regulate" and be too strict. And too let's face it, Steam itself is a Monopoly. And we only got lucky that this monopoly is run by Lord GabeN and not someone from Electronic Arts.

So, although Valve may not lower its rates as Tim Sweeney himself demanded in his ultimatum. Valve may just let them still grow by using Steam for advertising. Instead of hitting them with a hammer and make their monopoly even stronger.

I could accept such an answer.

When say an Xbox game was about to release on PC, it got a date, and it got release within a few month one on the store. But with epic exclusives, seem the games will hang around for a year, or even more without date, or any way to buy it here.

Really?

By the way, this is a collection of six games. I saw a video about the porting of Halo: Combat Evolved from console to PC, and it pointed out that the graphics quality was a mess. We all know this, porting form console to PC ain't easy.

So, with that collection that seem to be up for 5 month now, and doesn't have a release date. It got SIX games in it that need to be ported from console to PC. There is a technical reason why you may not predict a true release date. However, the exclusives on the Epic store are all PC games already. No porting required. And a deal normally sets the time spam black-on-white on how long the exclusive deal is supposed to go.

And yet, those Epic games here don't seem to have even a date. It's not a problem now. but I suspect they will abuse the system. First it's 6 month, then a year, then maybe even 2 or more without any intention to actually release the game on Steam, but abuse Steam as an advertising platform instead of an actual shop/store.

Epic proved to be radical. They bought studios, they payed big dollars to bind devs to their store. You think that they wouldn't just go further and stretch the release data for years if they can? Let's see... and don't hold your breath.

For the record, I'm making my own game with my own engine. So, I know it's hard, and I know it's takes time/money. So, I don't really blame Epic trying to be pro-dev. I use even Blender and Epic/Ubisoft just gave a ton of money to the Blender Foundation.

What I suggest is really just that, an idea. Maybe a stupid idea, but, hey, in the end it's Valve who decides and not me anyways.

I just have on single bad feeling with the Epic store, and that is that devs can turn off the reviews if they want. Which makes me wonder since Epic is already quite ambitious with its moves, how far they are willing to go? Removing games from the Store? Oh, that's no problem. But will they also remove bought games from your library? They are not DRM free as far as I know..
