Yet I get asked 10, 20 times in a row if I want to visit a game forum if I'm old enough to see it.
Store that information with my account. How is all your other personal information able to be stored - name, address, email, PAYMENT INFORMATION, but not my damn age?
Store my damn age along with all the other info you have on me and stop asking me stupid questions.
That's why. Steam is already telling you they CANNOT do that due to the law. Using the steam client has a built in browser and law requires them to verify age otherwise Valve could be sued if any minor accesses inappropriate content.
I and everyone else must keep complaining until the process is changed.
The Steam Store should only have to verify your age once. "Per session" is fine, as long as "one session" is however long you have the store open on your PC.
If I don't shut my PC down and never close the store, I should only have to verify my age once ever.
If you wish otherwise then contact your local senator and ask them to change the federal laws regarding internet privacy.
Right now Steam must comply with federal law which requires it. So unless the law is changed then steam cannot change it or else they will be shut down. .
You aren't listening. I'm not asking for Steam to break the law. I'm asking them to improve the age verification process of their store.
They don't have to ask 20 times in one session.

If it's asking 20 times per session, you've got something aggressively cleaning cookies or a corrupt steam installation.
Those aren't the places I need to complain.
Here is where I need to complain.
No matter if you like the reality it won't change and you do have to go to those that make the laws not Valve.
Yeah, you have to complain to them, they're the ones that demand it from Steam.
Steam can't verify it's actually you at the computer and not some kid. To make sure they don't get sued, this agegate is a thing. You have to keep making an active move to see content that's not suitable for all age groups.
It's all done so Little Timmy's mom can't sue them, because Valve will point to the fact that Little Timmy lied to see the content.
Vaklkve has to follow them. No amount of complaining will make some break a law and neither should one complain about someone actually following the law.
Unfortunately nope. See each game is a different case and hjust because I say yes for a hentai game, doesn't nmean I should be able to land on a robzombie wet dream gorefest of a game without at least a warning screen.
It again boils down to the laws for your region and if thats what the law states...
That's what you think and you should pass that information on to the law makers for your region.
What's to say they are?
If you want to make a claim you need to actually provide proof otherwise your just spreading conspiracy theories.
Besides whether they are/aren't doesnt change the legal requirement to ask.
