Search Filter For Only Showing DLC For Games I Own. Or Have Free DLCs Automatically Added To Library. And DLC Being Available For Delisted Titles.
As my games library grew over the years, it has become a right impossible pain to keep track of all the DLC for the games I own, especially free DLCs. And with the current system of having to manually add free DLCs, I am seriously worried about games I own becoming delisted and removed from the Steam store without my knowledge, before I have had a chance to add the remaining DLCs for those games to my account. I collect games after all, so having a game(good games mind you) end up in an imperfect state of having missing game content due to a DLC no longer being possible to buy or download, breaks my gamer heart.

Preferably I would like Free DLCs to just automatically be added to their respective games, rather than having to manually add them one at a time as it currently works in the store. I don't really get why free DLC isn't just added by default to begin with. I get why it is on the store, as opposed to just added in a patch; for the developer, or publisher, to show off how generous they are. But the way it works now is creating issues and confusion for lots of people, seeing as the games launch each time you download another free DLC.

But the biggest issue for me is the issue of losing out if a game you have not kept vigil over is delisted before you manually grabbed all the free content, and or the paid DLC, which the developers were kind enough to provide, but the way it currently works is problematic to say the least, when you own over 2000 games.

One way could be to add a filter in the store search that helps you see all the DLC you don't own for games you own. And only for the games you own.

Another thing that would remove the missing out issue would be to have the DLC purchase/download available for delisted games.

Please Valve, it would mean the world to me and other collectors with huge libraries if you could implement this. Well, that and automatically assigning store tags to our game library entries. Having to manually make those tags and assign them ourselves gets really old and tiresome when you have over 2000 games, or less... :cfacepalm:

I'm against adding free DLCs by default because there's HD textures and not anyone's PC can handle those. Someone upgrade their hardware every week, another someone once per few years, another someone play on potato...

Anyways, you can use steamdb [steamdb.info] and use filter by type -> DLCs for owned games.

You don't know that you can disable DLCs in the library? You can simply remove the check mark and they automatically uninstall, while still being registered to your account.

So this doesn't seem like an issue.

Thanks for sharing the link. I will look into the SteamDB site, but I am very wary of third party stuff for Steam, having lost my account to a hacker that way in the past.

This is a very good idea. This lets me check all dlc's to see if I am missing something for a game I own. As for adding all free dlc's, that is not a bad idea at all. In the cast of texture packs, you can check the install checkbox to install it, or leave it unchecked for it to not be installed

I know this is old. But wouldn't you rather get ALL of your free content and then remove the one here and there that is an issue, than not get the DLC at all because you didn't know it existed? Your argument is incredibly short-sighted.

Some publishers, e.g. Codemasters, delist their games out of the blue without warning.
Once it is delisted, you can never associate or download a free DLC - such as high-res texture pack. Unlike paid DLC's you cannot even buy them from elsewhere.

Considering this it is a really good idea to associate your Steam id with all free DLC's even if you don't need them now.
